We didn’t think we’d have another pinch me moment like this since surviving the Den but here we are.
We were entered into the EB100 SAGE People’s Choice of the Year Award and we didn’t think for a moment we’d win. This award is decided by the public and celebrates the brand that resonates most strongly with the people it serves. It recognises organisations that build meaningful connections with their communities, support and empower their people, embrace innovation and demonstrate a clear vision for the future
The competition was fierce but when our name was called up and my heart stopped pounding out my chest – I walked up to the stage and received an award that for me will go down in my business journey as a an outstanding highlight.
The reason this award means to much is actually because it’s not about us, our brand or our products. Sounds odd? Read on.
This award is all about our grassroots sporting community, our audience, our customers, our champions and all the hard-working volunteers.
As a mum to two sporty kids growing up, grassroots football to them was EVERYTHING. It punctuated every aspect of our life – our evenings, our weekends, the ever flowing laundry basket. On reflection (now that they are young adults), is that this time in my life was a privilege and I want all children to have the opportunity to play sport – without barriers.
This is why the Laceeze Foundation was set up – our way of giving back to the community that is our extended family. Whether it’s a donation to a fundraising raffle, new nets for the team or money towards transport for those in need – it’s all about making sport accessible to all children.
At Laceeze, supporting grassroots' clubs isn’t just something we “do” — it’s at the heart of why we exist. Every raffle prize, bundle or donation we send out is part of our wider commitment to keeping kids in sport and helping clubs thrive.
We love hearing back from where the support goes – one club used their fundraising to hire 3g pitches for winter training, others funded end of season trophies and one recently supported their coaches through their DBS checks. The support is needed everywhere and we are happy to be a small part of the solution.
