LACEEZE FOUNDATION
The Laceeze Foundation “Facilitating sport for all children” is a charitable initiative created by the Company Co-founders, Emma Burke and Paula Henley, to help encourage children from underprivileged backgrounds into sport, by donating funds to those who would be unable to participate in their chosen activity without financial assistance.
The Laceeze vision
“To make sport accessible to all children in the UK.”
Why encourage more children into sport?
We all know that children being active and spending time away from their games consoles or mobile phones is vitally important. Easier said than done in modern life. As much as parents may try to fight it, our children nowadays lead a much more sedentary existence with so much addictive technology at their fingertips and home-bound activities taking preference over more outdoor pursuits.
Laceeze understand that encouraging children into sport is invaluable, not only for the individual but for wider society as well. Good habits adopted from an early age can also help establish positive behaviours for adult life too.
Fewer than a quarter of children meet the minimum physical activity recommendations (data: NHS Digital) and childhood obesity is on the rise. Participating in sport has been proven time and time again to help with physical health, mental wellbeing and individual development. However the sad fact is that sport isn’t always accessible to those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
How can Laceeze help?
As a company founded by two mothers, we are incredibly passionate about getting kids into sport and that’s why we want to help. We want our revolutionary product to not only do good by solving the age old problem of laces coming undone on the pitch but assist all children who want to partake in sport to be able to access it. We believe that no child should be denied the opportunity to participate in sport due to financial constraints.
Laceeze have therefore pledged to donate 25p from every sale of Laceeze bands sold directly via our website to the Laceeze Foundation.
Where will the money go?
We welcome applications for funding from anyone within the UK. This can be a request for help in finding a coach, paying for some equipment to get you started or help with subscription fees. Each application will be viewed and verified on an individual basis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I get the money I require?
We can’t help everybody as currently all money from the Laceeze Foundation comes directly from our sales but we promise to look at every application and if we can’t help immediately we may be able to do so at a later stage or direct you to other organisations who can help.
What type of funding can I apply for?
Everybody has different circumstances, some children may be invited to join a team or club but cannot afford the subscriptions or you may require some kit to just get started. We aim to support children at grassroots level and at this stage can’t support athletes on any elite development programmes.
What age children do you support?
We can offer help for children up to the age of 16 years.
How do I apply?
We initially are requesting an introduction email to foundation@laceeze.co.uk
Please tell us a little more about yourself and the help that you may require.
How can I support the Laceeze Foundation?
The Laceeze Foundation funds come directly from sales of Laceeze bands. We will of course also welcome donations from benefactors which will enable us to support more children, or if you have an event coming up you could use this to raise money and awareness of this programme.
You can also support us by sharing our social media posts (find us on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter) @laceeze_foundation
